MapTivate v3.0
Ideal for Custom Client or Internet Server Applications
Introduction MapTivate is a hybrid mapping engine for software developers that integrates powerful rendering capabilities with a comprehensive rules-based paradigm which makes it a very agile GIS tool. MapTivate supports a variety of data formats (Vector and Raster) but captivates its audience when using its proprietary format which was exclusively designed for portability, speed and data size. Datasets can be easily imported into this proprietary TXF hybrid format.
Undertow Software has the solution for both independent and corporate developers looking to integrate sophisticated map content into their applications. Take valuable information and insert it within our high quality maps creating applications useful in commercial application, telecommunications, wireless communications, utilities, real estate, fleet management, mining, agriculture, forestry, shipping, logistics and the transportation industry, just to name a few.
Basic Features MapTivate use a stackable "theme" paradigm, where multiple themes can be layered one on top of the other, each theme representing a single type of geographic data, or a collection of data types. Vector data may be in the form of standard MID/MIF (Map Info) and SHP (ESRI) files or the hybrid TXF format, thus enabling the developer to use data from multiple sources. Loaded MID/MIF and Shape files may also be easily converted to native TXF files using the built in conversion tool. Whether your database is 1 MB or 1 GB, the performance is comparable.
Collections of files may be grouped together in CRA archives allowing the user to group multiple data sets for a state, a region, or even a country in a single archive for easier data management and deployment. Whether the data is in individual theme files or CRA archives, rendering attributes of sets, or individual map objects, may be dynamically controlled by the developer, through a rule-based system, with a built-in formula evaluator.
Using the tool's multiple selection modes, the user can highlight one or more objects based on one or more data attributes of such objects.
Data for each theme can be loaded and rendered from memory or simply directly from the hard drive. Layers that are smaller and frequently accessed can reside in memory, while larger databases can reside on the hard drive. This optimization can decrease overall map rendering significantly.
Built-in drill-down or reverse geocoding makes it easy for the developer to create applications for querying large, geo-based datasets. Using the underlying database information you can easily create reports, graphs, or charts. This, of course, is accompanied by a broad range of search APIs, with intelligent parsing, that allow the developer to search across multiple databases, for any “standard” spatial attributes (address, street, city/place, state, zip, country, user fields, etc.).
A Transient Objects are provided for the purpose of drawing temporary objects on the map surface, very useful for displaying geographic or other attributable data.
Ideal for real-time moving map displays, a sprite-like object is also provided. This object can be drawn without requiring the map to be repainted, thus, creating an animated map.
The geographic CAD-like object allows the user to create CAD objects that become part of the map. Once create, they remain part of the map until modified or removed.
