Transfer Registration - Error

I tried to transfer a registration and got the error message that "only the same dataset transfers are allowed".

What is that all about and how do I solve the problem?

I think the process doesn't allow one to transfer a license/registration if the current install is attempting to use a different dataset than the original one (I guess that's self-evident). Is it possible you installed from a more recent sdk and the datasets are different?

This is all very confusing to me. I installed a copy of my end-user app on the customer's system a year or so ago. I registered and paid for the license. my program and the OCX & data worked fine. The user system crashed and they had to re-install on a new box. The old computer is gone, so I want to transfer the license that I paid for, to this one. I am going through the process and I get the above message. It's the same customer, license, same application, same dataset.

There seems to be something wrong with the registration/transfer process.

Take a look at the characters/digits after the 8th character form the left. Are they the same? If they are not, then the problem is exactly what I suggested. There used to be a pdf or text file on the undertow developers web site that explained some of that. You may want to take a look.
